Pre-employment services include:

  • Criminal Background Investigations in OR/WA/ID
    Cardinal can get you up to date background information on any potential employee. In Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, the turnaround time is usually less than 24 hours.
  • Criminal Background Investigations in Other States
    Cardinal can get you up to date background information on any potential employee. Each state has different rules and regulations, and turnaround can take from 1-7 days.
  • Department of Motor Vehicle Checks
    For those positions where it can be helpful or necessary to determine an applicants driving history, Cardinal can provide your initial check and DMV flagging service.
  • Social Security Verifications
    With increasing pressure from the federal government, SSN verifications may become a pre-employment requirement. Until then some employers are choosing to be proactive and avoid correction letters.
  • Drug Testing
    Cardinal can perform pre-employment drug tests in our office or in some cases at the client location. We can also develop entire workforce plans, random tests, and post-accident drug testing when needed.
  • Reference Checks (Work/Personal)
    While not as effective as they once were, reference checks are still key to hiring success. Cardinal can perform these via phone, fax, and email based on previous employer requirements.

    We can perform a variety of clerical testing, including Microsoft office, data entry, typing tests, and more. We can also design specific tests as they relate to your specific job opening.

    Some jobs can require additional testing; including math, measuring, welding abilities, and a number of other job specific skill tests. Cardinal can provide guidance on these, and even administer these tests to potential new hires.
